Dear Teachers, Staff, Parents, and Students of the Coastal Christian / First Baptist Mt. Pleasant family,

I would like to take this time to thank the Board of Trustees and leadership of First Baptist Church Mt. Pleasant for choosing me to lead in the position as Head of School. I am honored and will strive to fulfill this role with spiritual integrity in all endeavors.

One of my favorite passages of scripture is the conversion of Saul as recorded in Acts Chapter 9. Verse 4 reads, “He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’ “ Our Lord was referencing Himself (me) as the church who at that time was under total persecution. Saul was a vital player in this persecution as he continually consented on the deaths of many Christians, which scattered the Christians to the regions of Judea and Samaria. In essence, the Lord changed Saul’s heart in a flash of light from Heaven on that road to Damascus.

This is a great example of what may happen in our lives if we are humbled before a Mighty God. Our focus turns from the earthly to the eternal. At Coastal Christian we have the unique ability to educate our students in the Biblical realm but also make them aware of the impact the world has on them. Paul now was a servant of the most High God, ready and willing to record almost two-thirds of the New Testament. May we as a family of believers seek Him in all we do. I pray God’s hand to be on this school and First Baptist Church.

Once again thank you, and God’s strength be with you for a successful school year.
