Whether we open the door for you or unload your child from the car, over and over people say that there is something special at CCPS from the very beginning of the day. They may be referring to the family atmosphere that we take pride in cultivating from our 2 year olds right up to the graduating seniors. In fact many of our upper classmen began their journey right here in our Preschool.
Our youngest Cougars are taught by experienced and well-equipped Christian teachers in small classes geared to make the most of every moment for each child. We work hard to develop nurturing classrooms where all our students know they are loved by us and, most importantly, loved by God. You may rest assured that your child is receiving a quality education focused on developing the whole child, emotionally, spiritually, academically, and physically for Kingdom work.
At CCPS, in addition to the classroom activities, your 3s and 4s will participate in Stretch N Grow, library, music, and chapel, as well as experience a variety of field trips and guest presentations. You can just feel it when you walk through the door – something is different. At least that’s what our parents say about CCPS, and it all begins with Preschool.
“Our family moved to Mt Pleasant from across town in 2013 and immediately found CCPS for our 3 year old daughter. We couldn`t have even imaged what a blessing it has been for us all and especially her education with a more in depth love of Jesus & confidence in herself.”Leigh Ann Garrett
For many of our youngest cougars, this program is their first experience in a semi-structured environment. They need time to explore and learn as well as develop an awareness of boundaries. Times of free play are interspersed with group activities where social skills and cooperation are the focuses. Academically, the 2s will work on fine motor skills, recognizing colors and shapes, counting, appreciating stories, answering questions, and following directions. Bible characters, stories, and songs are a part of each day. And, outdoor recess on their own playground encourages gross motor development. 3K – 4K Preschool
Our students are taught beginning phonics, math readiness, and pre-writing skills. Letters and sounds, colors, shapes, and numbers are introduced to make learning fun and enjoyable. We use a variety of approaches through special activities including muffins for moms, pajama day, snow day, participation in the Christmas program, and mission activities. They learn to expand their world as they become a part of a group here in our preschool.
Students attend a weekly Chapel service. Bible stories, Bible verses, prayer and songs are an integral part of daily learning to help them grasp the knowledge of God, Jesus and the Holy Bible. Our students adapt to the learning process by being away form mom and dad and develop a loving relationship with their teacher.
Our preschoolers also grow socially through interaction with classmates, learning to share, and to accept and respond to the teacher’s authority. For an overview of admissions information, please click here.
