Ms. Betsy Ward Truluck began her career at CCPS in 2013 as a first grade teacher. Betsy completed her MAT in Early Childhood Education at the College of Charleston in 1989. She began her teaching career in the public school system with first grade. After teaching first and/or second grade for 10 years, she embarked on raising children while working part time in church programs for 6 years.
Betsy grew up in Mt. Pleasant and is excited about coming home after 5 years in TN. She continues her family legacy of teaching and gardening. Her passion for teaching was instilled by her mother, Betty Ward, who was director and K5 teacher at St. Andrew’s Church for 35 years. Betsy enjoys working with friends in the garden her father took under his wing many years ago, continuing his dream of sharing God’s love and provision of fresh vegetables with neighbors and friends. She and her two children attend St. Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant. One of her favorite Bible verses shared with her children, Paul and Mary, is Jeremiah 29:11.“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
