VailMrs. April Vail earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/Psychology from Converse College. While teaching Social Studies her first year of education, her principal discovered her love of math and her extensive math background and asked if she would consider math, as well. She said yes, and before she knew it, she was a full blown math teacher. April has taught several years in both private and public schools, and has also been the faculty advisor of Student Government, the Math Meet, the Academic Bowl, and Varsity Cheerleading. After 4 years in the classroom, April became a Center Director for Sylvan Learning Venter where she was able to work with parents, teachers, and students. April enjoys her current role because it allows her to work closely with parents during the Admissions process while also helping to guide her current students into the college of their choice.

April was born and raised in Charleston. She and her husband, Chad have three children, Caroline, Claire, and Bryson. April and her family enjoy spending time with their large extended family, playing outside, and taking advantage of all the activities Charleston has to offer.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses ALL understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
